For Those Girly Days

I'm baaaack!

Okay, so maybe I wasn't really gone that long but it felt long. I already started to miss blogging.

This past Thursday I got some glitter in the mail and I have been dying to use them ever since! The ones I decided to use for this design are the gold hex glitters and a hot pink which flashes blue/purple, or violet in this case. Unfortunately you can't really see how amazing it is in the pictures!

I also experimented a little with my pictures. I tried holding some beads I found in my closet, but I don't know, do you guys like pictures like these better? I've always thought that this kind of thing was distracting, but let me know what you think.

For this manicure I used Funky Fingers Golden Coast as the base for the pinky and index fingers, Ulta Noel as the base for the base for the middle and ring fingers and Revlon Strobe as the base for the thumb. The pink stripes were made using the glitter I mentioned above. I just used topcoat to draw stripes then brushed on the glitter. For the thumb I placed each hex glitter, one-by-one, using a cuticle stick. I used that same glitter on my ring finger. The rhinestone you see, as always, is from Born Pretty.

I think it would be easier to just show you guys the pink glitter I used, it came in this packet, the one on the bottom left:

And if anyone is curious, this is everything I used for this manicure:

That's it! I kept it really simple today. I really wanted to try out these new products and also I miss posting.

P.S. Make sure you check my blog tomorrow. I'll be posting something special for my followers. (:

Diva Nails!

Anything with bling and leopard print is automatically Diva to me. I know I wanted to do something way out of my comfort zone so I went straight to this design.

These are "in-your-face", tacky, hooker nails at it's finest.

I couldn't get all the nails to line up straight but I think they still qualify as divalicious.

Wow, this post just keeps getting cheesier. Anyway, here's what I came up with:

For this manicure I used my favorite nude/taupe as the base, Ulta Set The Nude. Then I created a thick black stripe across the nail with Rimmel London Black Satin. While that was still wet I applied gold rhinestones that I got from Born Pretty. The next two steps were simple: I freehanded the leopard print with Zoya Richelle spots and Diamond Cosmetics Decadence lining. Lastly, I applied Funky Fingers Golden Coast to the tips.

Not sure why the rhinestones look so huge in these pictures but they are small, normal sized rhinestones in real life.

I took this off after about an hour and did another design which I'll post later. This was WAY too much for me but I do like the design. It'd be great for someone whose going out to a party or club or something. Or if you just like to rock fierce nails!

Geometric Tips

My Internet at home is back to normal. And normal means it works but goes on and off every once in a while. Our AT&T service sucks. I don't know why we put up with it.

Haute Lacquer now has over 350 followers! I know that number might be small to some of you with over 500 or 1000 followers but it means a lot to me. That's over 350 different people who are interested in my blog. I can't wait for these packages to finally get here (waiting for two more) so that I can FINALLY post the giveaway as a big thank you.

Now onto the good stuff. Here's a design I created while my Internet was down.

For this manicure I used S-he 471 as the blue, foil base and Funky Fingers Baby Baby Baby as the blue, scattered holo base for my ring finger. Once it was dry I taped diagonally on one side of the tips of my nails and then painted over it with Rimmel London Black Satin. I waiting for that to dry and then taped it off again, this time painting over it with Funky Fingers Baby Baby Baby. I finished by adding a line between the two colors.

By the way I got a few Funky Fingers in the mail on Monday (Golden Coast and Sand and Stilettos are the other two). Traci from The TraceFace Philes sent them to me and just look at this cute pink bubble wrap!

I love it!
