Hint of Tribal

I can never get enough of tribal print! The weird thing is I only really like tribal print on nails, not a fan of it anywhere else.

Let's see this will be the sixth time I've done a tribal inspired nail design? I've done it here, here, here, here, and kinda here.

And this probably won't be the last time either, the possibilities are endless!

For this manicure I used the ever-so-wonderful Simple Nail Art Design's tutorial from Youtube. Following her steps, I used a very thin nail art brush to create each line/stripe. I used the colors Wet N Wild Club Havana (orange), GOSH Miss Minty (mint), and Zoya Cho (nude) .

These pictures do not do this manicure justice at all! I had to fight with the lighting but in person this is such a pretty and striking design.

So my normally creative post titles comes to a temporary end today. When I tell you I struggled to name this post, I really struggled! I was even considering posting this on Facebook and asking for name suggestions--desperation you guys!

Anyway, today's design is sort of a random one. I don't even really know where the idea for it came but I did love the combination of colors and finishes here.

For this manicure I used Zoya Megan as the light purple/gray base. Then, using a nail art brush, I created the black section first, slowly curving the stripe. Then I followed the same "wave" shape with the Wet N Wild Bite the Bullet (darker purple). Since the base is already the light purple I moved on to the silver and created that stripe.

Explosive Glitz

Good morning y'all!

I feel like I haven't done my nails in forever. I don't know why either, I've been feeling very inspired lately! But who am I kidding, Pinterest is my biggest source for inspo right now.

That's where today's design came from actually. I fell in love with this pin of this design immediately after seeing it!

For this manicure I used Pixel Naughty Bit Nice (from Ulta stores) as the blue base. Then, using a thin nail art striper brush, I free handed the "explosions". For those I used Zoya Ziv but any gold glitter or metallic works! You could also use tape instead of free handing it. I finished off with one coat of top coat.

One of my favorite color/polish combinations is easily gold and light blue. So gorgeous! What's your favorite combo?

3 Easy Beginner Nail Art Tutorials | No Nail Art Brushes Required!

A goal of mine this year is to make more designs and tutorials that would be helpful for a nail art beginner. We all have to start somewhere and a 2 hour, intricate design definitely isn't where I began!

I decided to start a little series here on the blog where I will showcase three simple designs within a specific theme. For today's post the theme is nail art without nail art brushes. Yes, it's possible!

I can assure you that these designs are easier than they appear, I completed each one within fifteen to twenty minutes.

For The Center Stripe you will need...
-1 toothpick
-Teal nail polish
-Light blue nail polish

Step 1: Paint your nails using two coats of the light blue nail polish of your choosing.
Step 2: Use the brush that comes with your teal nail polish to create a stripe down your nail.
Step 3: Use your toothpick and dip it into a drop of the light blue nail polish. Then dot your toothpick down the stripe of your nail.

For The Chevron Tip you will need...
- Light blue nail polish
- Gold metallic nail polish
- Taupe or white nail polish

Step 1: Paint your nails using two coats of the light blue nail polish of your choosing.
Step 2: Use the brush that comes with your gold metallic nail polish and create a "v" shaped tip on your nails. Start on one side of the "v" and then connect the other.
Step 3: Repeat step 2 with your taupe (or white) nail polish.

For The Bold Stripe you will need...
- Silver metallic nail polish
-Teal nail polish

Step 1Paint your nails using two coats of the teal nail polish of your choosing.
Step 2: Use the brush of your silver metallic nail polish to create a vertical stripe down the side of each nail.
Step 3: Use the brush of your teal nail polish to draw a horizontal stripe that connects to the first stripe. This should create an "L" shape.

That's three easy designs, with three easy steps, and a very minimal amount of supplies for each!
Which one is your favorite? Which would you try first?

Check out my Intergloss Interview!

No nail art post today but I wanted to quickly share with you an interview I did with is a recently launched website where users can not only read reviews, see swatches photos, and more, but users can also leave their own reviews on all type of beauty products!

You can check out my interview here on the homepage. Just scroll down to the "Featured User" section.

I was a little skeptical about this site when I was contacted about it, what makes this website any different from others? After writing a few reviews of my own and checking out the features I can say that it's a great site for anyone who needs to quickly find a review of a product they are interested in.

It is far more convenient and easy to use than other similar websites out there!

Two Faced Triangle

Good morning!

After blue, green is one of my favorite nail polish colors. Any green really, army green to neon green. I love them all!

I plan on reorganizing my collection and updating my spreadsheet this week and I guarantee green polishes are going to have a big pile of their own!

For this manicure I used my clear base coat as a base. Then I took my nail art brush (you could also use tape) and painted half my nail with Zoya Neely and the other half with Essie Mojito Madness. Then, using the opposite colors for the sides, I drew half the triangles to form a whole triangle. I finished off with topcoat.

I love the monochromatic, green-on-green look here! What's your favorite nail polish color?

All the Stripes

I'm going to start this post off by saying that I am freakishly in love with this design! I say freakishly because I look at these pictures and almost want to print them and paste it on my nails.

Why did I ever grab my acetone and remove this pattern off my nails? There's no doubt that I'll be doing these over again.

And by the way, the inspiration for this design came from the lovely Nearly Natural Nails

For this manicure I used OPI Planks A Lot as the purple base. Then I painted a large vertical stripe going down the middle of my nails with Orly Ancient Jade. To create this chevron-like pattern I took my nail art brush and a black acrylic paint and drew diagonal stripes throughout the center stripe. Afterwards, I connected the ends of the diagonal lines, on both sides, one going upwards and the other side downwards. Finally, I outlined the green center stripe with black.

J'adore this manicure! Are you as excited about this design as I am?

Sweet Leopard

Inspiration really does come from anywhere! I say it all the time but this manicure is such a good example of that statement. While watching one of itsJudysLife's vlogs I noticed their baby daughter, Julianna, wearing a really cute bib! I quickly took a screenshot because I thought it would make the perfect manicure!

I'd like to believe I was right.

And here's the screenshot of baby Julianna's bib.

For this manicure I used Zoya Jacqueline as the nude base. Then, using my nail art brush, I drew the leopard print with China Glaze Below Deck and OPI Sparrow Me the Drama. I normally create leopard print by first doing the outline of the spot (the brown) and then filling it in. After creating the spots I used the same nail art brush to border my nails with the pink.

So the "border" nail art thing still holds a special place in my heart. I've done it a few other times, 3 to be exact. But really...who's counting?

The Triangle

My first post of the new year!

New years never really feels all that "new" to me. I don't wake up and think "Yay! 2013!" It's just "oh, today's Tuesday." I don't know, maybe it's just me but it just feels like another day. It just so happens that I'll write the date wrong a million times on this day.

For this manicure I used Sation 3 Free-Dom as the base. I started the triangles off with Zoya Reagan, slowly creating it in the center to help align the others. I drew one side, then the other, and finally filled it in. The other triangles were made using the same method only this time going upside down. Afterwards, I drew the two stripes above and one below the triangles with my nail art brush. The black I used was acrylic paint.

Stay tuned for a giveaway post tomorrow! ;)
